How’d you like a desktop computer that works without any physical keyboard or monitor? That’s what industrial designer Paulina Carlos envisions with her Dell Froot concept PC.
Instead of connecting to a traditional monitor or USB keyboard, the Froot features a pair of projectors – one that casts the keyboard on a tabletop, and the other one that projects the computer screen on the wall. Besides the small projection hump in the middle, the left-hand side contains the ports, and the right has a slot-loading DVD drive.
Paulina conceived the Froot for a Dell sustainable design contest, and if ever produced, its colorful case would be made ...

Beer is good for bones. 3 Cheers !!!
February 9th, 2010 by q8life
Beer is a significant source of dietary silicon, a key ingredient for increasing bone mineral density, and hence a moderate consumption may help fight osteoporosis.
An international team has carried out the study and found that beer is rich in silicon a mineral found in barley, a key ingredient in the beverage which survives the brewing process as orthosilicic acid. And, according to the study, its silicon which helps strengthen bones and prevent osteoporosis, a disease that is characterised by low bone mass as well as the deterioration of bone tissue.

Review: Dante’s Inferno
February 9th, 2010 by Marzouq
Dante a soldier of the Crusade returns home to find his wife slain and her innocent soul taken to hell by Lucifer. He must traverse all 9 circles of hell to free his precious wife and destroy Lucifer, with it facing all his past and demons.
Right off the bat this is an R rated movie, I knew it was dark from the trailers but it was also perfectly shocking and disturbing. There is more blood shed in this movie then all Tarantino’s movies combined, the best part was all the different styles of animation. I loved how the character was presented differently in each ...

I’m a fan of Jenna Elfman from a while back, I watched Dharma and Greg for over four years and watched the seasons that passed me. So when I first start this show I was really hoping for it to be funny, turned out to be funnier then I expected. The show is hilarious and I think its at the top of the list of comedies currently on the TV. She is just as quirky on this show as she was on Dharma and Greg, but this time around its even funnier and looking forward to more of this show.
Demi's Style
February 9th, 2010 by Confashion
Kuwaiti designer and Central Saint Martins graduate Tahir Sultan's new demi collection has been revealed. The collection is a mix of classic wardrobe pieces with an unexpected modern twist. It features a color palette of mostly black and white, with hints of gray and a lot of Tahir’s signature constructed/de-constructed details. I’m loving the wide black pants with basic white button-down shirt. It leaves a lot of room for personalizing the look with my favorite accessories. For any inquiries, please send an e-mail to info@tahirsultan.com.

Goodbye DHL!
February 8th, 2010 by Mark
DHL for the third time now have changed the way they calculate your shipment. I spoke to them on the phone and they have now started charging based on volumetric weight which means they’re now MUCH MORE expensive than Aramex Shop & Ship. Even if you deduct taxes unless its something very expensive you’re much better off using Aramex. To give you an idea of how expensive DHL has become, a reader just paid KD31 for a package that weighs just 1.3KG!
Until they go back to calculating based on actual weight I will be using Aramex again. At least with Aramex they don’t change their ...

“White Goat” Transforms Office Paper To Toilet Paper
February 8th, 2010 by q8life
Unplggd reports on a machine that can transform waste office paper into rolls of toilet paper.
It’s called the “White Goat”, manufactured by the Nakabayashi company of Japan. With the addition of a little water, the White Goat will shred up waste paper products and spit out a functional roll of toilet paper.
The idea behind this machine is admirable and worth considering, at one’s office.

Ogori cafe – u get what the previous customer ordered
February 8th, 2010 by q8life
Cabel Saasser brings word of a mysterious cafe that he recently experienced in Kashiwa in Japan. Located inside the Urban Design Center Kashiwa-no-ha, the Ogori cafe looks innocuous enough, but holds a surprise in store for its patrons. In a nutshell, you get what the person before you ordered, and the next person gets what you ordered. Thus, if you’re in on the game, you can choose to be either a generous benefactor, and treat those that come after you – or try your luck at being cheap. Either way, it’s an interesting experiment that explores surprise, kindness and encourages interactions.
Cabel describes a scene from ...
Codecs & Players

There are quite a few players out there and the best being VLC, but sometimes you want a the right set of codecs to play the audio and video perfectly with your computer or home theater system. The problem being faced with some machines is that the hardware can’t playback 720p or 1080p, but that also has to do with the codecs and how they process the high definition video.
Usually the best for any PC is usually VLC since its free and works perfectly, and if I have any issues I then download the K-Lite Codec Pack which covers it perfectly. Then there is ...

Oh and there are some silly jokes in the wrapping paper
Do you know of any place in Kuwait that sells Carambar???

Baking Tray Broke My Heart </3
February 7th, 2010 by ansam518
So I finally got to try the Baking Tray New Brunch Menu last weekend!
We got there around 10:35-40am and browsed through their menu. I, for sure, wanted to try an item from their weekend menu so I ordered the English Breakfast with Chai & Haleeb (tea with milk). My friend wanted the turkey omelette with a side of sauteed mushrooms.
At around 10:50am, my friend’s order arrived…
She decided to wait till my order comes. After around five minutes I begged her to start, she wont enjoy her meal if it gets cold. I was thinking my dish will arrive soon. Another 10 minutes passed, she was ...
Osaka Dog – Picture
February 7th, 2010 by Marzouq
There is no denying that I am a huge fan of Japan, I always enjoying reading up about it and other things that are going on. I find their culture interesting as well as everything else they do when it comes to anime, manga, electronics, and food. This picture I love, taken in Osaka with an Akita hanging his owner from the rear while he is biking his way to their destination. An Amazing photo.

Today GOD wants you to know that… Nothing is more exciting than uncertainity
February 7th, 2010 by q8life
… that nothing is exciting if you know what the outcome is going to be.
You keep wanting to know how things will play out, keep asking to see the future.
God doesn’t give anyone the power to know the future,
because life becomes maddeningly boring when you know everything upfront. So, instead of struggling, enjoy the uncertainty – to be alive means to not know.

Paris – Day VIII
February 7th, 2010 by ansam518
On Day VIII we had breakfast at Angelina… A place I keep hearing about, and reading about on someCONTRAST and 1/2 Cream Milk, that I just had to go!
We managed to get a table on the lower level. As I sat down I took a look around.
Classical interiors with mirrors and marble tables
I browsed through their menu, which starts of with a brief history of Angelina (it was established back in 1903 and was visited by many famous people such as Coco Chanel and Audrey Hepburn).
The main reason I went there was to try their much talked about African Hot Chocolate… a drink that made this ...
The River Of Blood
February 7th, 2010 by snookie
This is probably the coolest natural thing I’ve ever seen! Incredible! There is a glacier in Antarctica that seeps red liquid, making it look like the glacier is bleeding.
Discovered in 1911 by a member of Robert Scott’s ill-fated expedition team, its rusty color was at first theorized to be caused by some sort of algae growth. Later, however, it was proven to be due to iron oxidation. Every so often, the glacier spews forth a clear, iron-rich liquid that quickly oxidizes and turns a deep shade of red.
